Shooting in Rocky Mount injures 13-year-old

On Saturday just before 10:30 p.m., officers with the Rocky Mount Police Department responded to multiple calls of shots being fired and a Shotspotter alert in the 1400 block of Cokey Road. A 13-year-old boy was injured by a gunshot while walking in the area and taken to UNC Nash Hospital, where his injuries were treated and he was released. The RMPD Criminal Investigation Division is continuing the investigation and requests information from the public.
