Central High arrest details clash with officials’ account
Originally reported by Investigations — 2026-03-31
A Jefferson County Public Schools officer arrested Derek Mosley at Central High School after he entered the building, according to body camera footage reviewed by WDRB reporter Adi Schanie. School officials initially told families the incident occurred outside the campus, but the video shows Mosley was buzzed into the school and chased by the officer inside. The footage contradicts the district’s initial statement, which claimed the arrest happened outside, and reveals the officer stated Mosley ran past him, despite the video showing no such movement. School officials have not yet provided additional details or clarified the discrepancy.
